Thea Paleologos

Thea has extensive experience in respondent public liability, professional indemnity, coverage, casualty and personal injury claims (including catastrophic injuries). Thea has represented the interests of both self-insured clients, leading insurers and government agencies. In addition, Thea has assisted in significant subrogation matters involving international underwriters.

Thea endeavours to assist in the resolution of matters, dedicated to delivering efficient and favourable outcomes, employing her negotiation skills to settle matters in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Over the course of her career, Thea has honed her advocacy skills and has appeared regularly for the hearing of Interlocutory Applications and Settlement Conferences. Thea has appeared in the Magistrates, District (including the Environment, Resources and Development Division) and Supreme Courts, as well as the South Australian Employment Tribunal. Thea has also appeared as instructing solicitor for trials in all of those jurisdictions. Most significantly, a substantial trial in the Supreme Court, exceeding 100 days of hearing.

Thea is the current South Australian President of YIPS (Young Insurance Professionals) having served as the Treasurer prior. She is also a member of the Law Society of South Australia and the Australian Insurance Lawyers Association and the Australian Professional Indemnity Group.

In addition to a Bachelor’s Degree of Laws and Legal Practice, Thea holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Science (Psychology) from Flinders University.
