Since being admitted in 2011, Sarah has had extensive experience handling general liability claims for large insurer clients, including local government. She has particular expertise in defending personal injury matters in various jurisdictions and providing policy coverage advice.
Her vast public liability experience includes defending personal injury and property damage claims, and she has advised on matters involving:
- Recovery actions brought by the Victorian WorkCover Authority and Transport Accident Commission
- Injuries sustained in the course of employment, including labour-hire situations and applicable occupational health and safety regulations
- Occupier’s liability claims on behalf of private residents and commercial businesses
- Complex and multi-party disputes for general liability claims.
Sarah has also represented clients’ interests in coronial inquest hearings, and has been involved in judicial reviews of determinations made by the Medical Panel in the course of common law proceedings.
She has a keenly commercial approach to resolving matters by fully understanding individual requirements and delivering tailored solutions. Sarah is also vigilant in providing ‘big picture’ risk management advice in the interests of reducing clients’ exposure in future similar situations.
This pragmatic approach to the mitigation of risk and commitment to resolving claims at the earliest practicable opportunity has seen Sarah consistently exceed client expectations.
