Richard is a lawyer with extensive experience in employment and workplace law and is dedicated to achieving practical and successful outcomes for his clients. He advises businesses across diverse industries, spanning healthcare, finance, manufacturing, logistics, education, and the government and non-government sectors.
He works in partnership with his clients’ operational leaders and People and Culture teams to implement strong frameworks and strategies and to respond effectively and commercially when disputes and complex issues arise.
Richard regularly represents his clients in tribunals and courts in employment and industrial relations matters including unfair dismissal and general protections claims and is experienced in resolving investigations and prosecutions by regulators such as the Fair Work Ombudsman and WorkSafe.
Richard deftly handles complex employment issues such as underpayment claims, award compliance, restructuring, business sales, enterprise bargaining, OHS incidents, long-term injured and ill workers, harassment, discrimination and termination of employment.
He works together with his clients’ decision makers to create and implement effective solutions that drive success and foster a positive work environment.
Richard often presents training and seminars to clients and industry groups about developments in workplace laws and the practical ways employers should respond to compliance requirements in the ever-changing workplace regulatory environment.
