Nicole is a commercial insurance lawyer focused on directors and officers liability, financial institutions and professional indemnity claims.
She has considerable experience advising insurers on complex and high-value coverage matters and disputes. Her experience includes advising insurers on coverage issues emanating from class action litigation against financial institutions, as well as regulatory investigations and enquiries against directors and officers.
Nicole also has experience in defending various insured professionals such as accountants, auditors, financial advisors, lawyers, and construction professionals including builders, architects and building certifiers in litigated claims. Nicole has acted in matters before the Federal and State Courts and the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
Through two secondments within the Australian insurance market, Nicole gained a practical understanding of the results claims teams want to achieve and translates that knowledge into her every-day work. Nicole takes a pragmatic and commercial approach to her matters, and she is often commended on her approachable demeanour and hard-working attitude.
Having initially commenced her legal career in corporate law in South Africa, Nicole has gained a diverse range of experience across the commercial sector, and this has assisted her in thriving and adapting in any working environment.
