Denise Bowen is a senior treatment liability and health law practitioner with over 40 years of experience working in the health and the aged care sector in a variety of roles including as a registered nurse, midwife, manager of medico legal and most recently as a solicitor in private practice. She has extensive experience in managing civil claims, freedom of information requests, treatment liability claims including those involving catastrophic injury claims, coronial investigations and disciplinary matters. Denise has managed mediation and legal support services at the Child & Adolescent Health Service and the Women & Newborn Health Service as part of the public health system in Western Australia.
Denise maintains her registrations as a nurse and midwife and her accreditation as a mediator. Her qualifications include a Diploma of Nursing, Post graduate qualifications in Midwifery, Health Administration and Family Dispute Resolution Practice, a Masters in Health Administration, Certificate in Health Economics, Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Science), Graduate Diploma in, and a Juris Doctor from Notre Dame University. She was admitted to legal practice in 2010.
Denise’s approach to legal practice brings to bear her depth of clinical knowledge and experience in managing claims from the client side, alongside her compassionate and considered approach to the personal side of issues.
