Abbey acts for insureds and their public and professional indemnity insurers across all aspects of litigated and pre-action personal injury, professional indemnity and product liability claims. She adopts a pragmatic and commercial approach to her matters to provide insurer, insured and self-insured clients of the firm with the best possible outcome.
Abbey has experience defending health care providers and health care professionals where she draws on her years of clinical experience as a registered nurse in Queensland to assist clients in these matters.
Abbey continues to practice as a registered nurse which compliments her legal practice and allows her to approach any health related matter with first-hand knowledge of the issues and challenges faced by medical practitioners and health care services and providers at the coalface. Abbey has a special interest in professional risk for health practitioners and injury law.
Previously, Abbey has managed CTP claims property claims and recoveries during her time at Gilchrist Connell.
Abbey is involved in the Women In Insurance (Qld) committee and holds a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Masters in Law focusing on Commercial Litigation and Insurance.
