Gilchrist Connell elevates 2 in latest round of principal promotions

June 2024

Leading Australian insurance sector firm, Gilchrist Connell, proudly announces the advancement of Lotta Noel and Jacob Redden to Principal, effective 1 July 2024.

Lotta and Jacob are based in Perth and Brisbane, respectively. These promotions increase the number of principals at Gilchrist Connell to 39.

Lotta Noel (Principal) began as a Special Counsel at the firm in July 2021. She has extensive experience on all aspects of defending litigated and non-litigated compulsory third party claims of varying size and complexity, including assessing complex large loss claims involving catastrophic injury, fatal accident claims and claims where liability is in issue.

Jacob Redden (Principal) has been with the firm since 2013, first in Adelaide and then Brisbane. In addition to a significant practice defending professional indemnity claims and injury liability for engineers and builders, Jacob has considerable experience in workplace relations, work health and safety obligations, litigated employment disputes, management and governance liability, and sports law.

“It is genuinely one of the best parts of the job to watch good people fulfil their potential within GC. Lotta and Jacob are highly respected by their clients and their colleagues, and we are thrilled to welcome them to our partnership,” shares Managing Principal Richard Wood.

Richard explains, “Lotta and Jacob’s promotion is the latest in a series of announcements which demonstrate the growth of our firm and our commitment to strengthen our offering to meet client need.”

These promotions follow the announcements earlier this month regarding three senior Sydney-based lawyers joining our national liability practice and the appointment of four special counsel in our Melbourne, Perth and Sydney offices.
