Deborah Templeman – Insurance Partner of the Year

Specialist insurance law firm Gilchrist Connell is very happy to announce that Principal Deborah Templeman was named Lawyers Weekly Insurance Partner of the Year at the Awards event last Friday April 28th. We heartily congratulate Deborah, however her win comes as no surprise to us given her spectacular record and professional reputation.

Deborah is the founding Principal of the firm’s highly successful Perth office and the judges “were impressed with her conscientious approach to client relationships, leadership initiatives and focus on career development on both local and national platforms.”

Deborah and her team joined Gilchrist Connell in 2011, hailing from a well-known top tier firm where she was chair of the WA Partners. At the time, Gilchrist Connell was virtually unknown in WA but thanks to Deborah’s extraordinary stewardship, that office now has 17 fee earners and a client list including some of the world’s largest insurers – as well as a host of specialist underwriters.

Apart from first-rate legal work, Deborah has overseen the appointment of two additional Principals, the recruitment of talented senior staff and generated a highly productive, team environment. In 2016 Gilchrist Connell Perth was re-appointed to the panels of three large insurers among other major appointments.

Deborah and her fellow Principals have been widely recognised as leading practitioners both in the legal profession and the insurance industry.
