Allana is a reliable advisor and litigator. Her experience spans across legal matters that involve the workplace, including in the areas of employment, discrimination, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, whistleblowing and privacy.
She has acted for small businesses, global corporations, government departments and these organisations’ insurers.
Allana provides advice, and representation, in relation to a range of workplace relations claims, including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, bullying and harassment, employee entitlements and benefits, breach of confidentiality and restraint of trade. She provides advice on workforce management matters, including workplace investigations and the application of industrial instruments such as modern awards and enterprise agreements. She regularly prepares contracts and policies for clients across a diverse range of industries, including businesses providing labour hire services. She also advises on employment matters arising from the sale of businesses.
Her health and safety litigation work includes acting for organisations prosecuted for alleged breaches of health and safety legislation such as: failure to provide safe systems of work and discrimination on health and safety grounds. Her health and safety advisory work includes the preparation of tailored updates to organisations in relation to their work health and safety obligations.
Allana is an active member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Workplace Relations Committee and she volunteers regularly at the Fitzroy Legal Service.
