Alison has significant expertise in health law and holds a senior position on the firm’s national health law and medical malpractice team.
Prior to joining Gilchrist Connell, Alison spent several years as Head of Medical Defence Services in South Australia at Avant Mutual, leading the team providing on the ground advice and defence to insured medical practitioners.
Alison’s in-house experience gives her a unique understanding of the challenges faced by claims managers and the needs of Gilchrist Connell’s insurer clients.
Alison’s legal career includes senior roles in a national law firm and for the SA Crown Solicitor. She has also worked as a claims manager for a global broker and been a guest lecturer and tutor for Adelaide and Flinders universities in the field of medical law.
Alison is on the board of the Burnside War Memorial Hospital and was the legal representative of the Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Ethics Committee for three years.
